VARSITY
KIDS UPDATES
God
worked through the combined efforts of almost
every member at Cross Timbers Church or Christ.
Although they only have a few elementary age
kids in their body, 40 kids from Stephenville,
Texas, heard about God's forgiveness while playing
football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
After
hearing the gospel, one camper whose name meant
"life", decided to accept the ultimate
gift of Jesus Christ into her heart. She was
given the truest gift of life one could receive.
Following her prayer of acceptance, she looked
up with deep brown eyes pooling with a new hope
and explained, "Coach, I feel different!"
Her life had indeed been changed.
Several
of the SportReach staff also had an opportunity
to talk with another girl throughout the week
about her faith. This young lady believes in
reincarnation and karma and is really scared
about dying. The question she asks is how could
just one person create all that we see? She
could not believe that God could do such a thing,
or that He would send His only Son, Jesus, to
die for her and her family and the rest of the
world. The girl admitted her confusion about
God and religion and life after death. But,
she became very open as the camp progressed
to learn more and have the team pray for her.
She even asked to get a Bible so she could read
for herself about The Way, The Truth, and The
Life.
Please
pray for Pastor Don and his congregation as
they continue to care for all of these great
kids who came to the Varsity Kids Sports Camp.
